Celebrating Our Strong Foundation | 2024 Annual Meeting Recap

Call Federal Credit Union’s 62nd Annual Meeting was held at Swift Creek Mill Theatre in South Chesterfield on Saturday, April 20, 2024. We welcomed over 150 members just after 8am with a lovely spread of breakfast breads, beverages, and warm conversations, setting a communal tone before transitioning to the formal proceedings.

Jim Horne, Chairman of the CFCU Board of Directors, officially opened the meeting at 9:30 AM, confirming a quorum was present. He took a moment to acknowledge Roger Ball, our President Emeritus, who was in attendance, before offering a few opening remarks and encouraging everyone to read the Chairman’s letter included in the Annual Report.

CFCU Board Treasurer, Julian White, then presented the financial achievements of the past year, illustrating our growth through informative graphs. These visuals not only highlighted our performance against the benchmarks set by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) but also underscored our historical progress. Mr. White’s report affirmed that Call Federal stands on a strong foundation, poised for future success.

Mr. White then introduced, John West, our President and CEO, who took the stage to deliver his “State of the Credit Union” address. He outlined the innovative financial solutions introduced over the year, including contactless payment options and the launch of business accounts. Mr. West emphasized the importance of our dedicated team, whose efforts ensure exceptional member service. He also celebrated our community impact, noting nearly $100,000 in financial support and over 650 volunteer hours contributed by our staff.

The meeting proceeded with the reappointment of board members and a lively Q&A session, where topics ranged from new banking products to potential branch expansions. Post-discussion, members had the opportunity for one-on-one interactions with our leadership team.

Once the formal meeting concluded, we welcomed the cast of Swift Creek Mill Theatre actors to the stage for a performance of “Three Little Pigs”. Members of all ages were treated to a spirited version of this classic tale. The stars of the show stuck around after the show for pictures and autographs to the delight of all in attendance.

Overall, the day was full of affirmation that anything is possible when you work from a strong foundation.

Updating Our Logo

In addition to all the usual Annual Meeting activities, we also got to showcase our “new” logo. When we surveyed our members and the community at large last summer, we heard loud and clear that it was important to emphasize that we are a credit union. In response, we’ve added these important words to our official logo. The transition to this fresh look will culminate in the launch of our new website in November.
