Call Federal offering free financial workshops to help develop money habits geared to achieving your financial goals

Managing money and budgets can be tricky for most people. Saving, spending and paying bills aren’t usually taught in school. So, it’s easy to develop habits that work against reaching your financial goals.

That’s why Call Federal, a credit union based in Richmond, Virginia, is offering a series of financial workshops to the community. These workshops, free to participants, will help uncover learned attitudes about money and offer tips and hints to help accomplish financial goals.

Led by Call Federal financial experts, these workshops have been designed to deliver financial education to anyone who is interested in improving their knowledge of finances, budgeting, savings and debt.

The first workshop is titled, “What’s Your Money Personality?” This interactive, fun program will focus on self-discovery of money attitudes and identify red flags for that may be counterproductive habits to improve managing your finances.

It will be held at Maymont Park Nature Center, 2201 Shields Lake Drive in Richmond on Wednesday, October 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Registration and more information can be found at here.

 Other workshops in the series include:

  • “Building Credit,” Tuesday, November 1, 2016
  • “Improving Credit,” Wednesday, November 16, 2016
  • “Spending Plan and Savings,” Wednesday, November 30, 2016
  • “First Time Home Buyers”, Wednesday, December 7, 2016

 All will be held at Maymont Park Nature Center.

 Call Federal credit union was founded in 1962 by employees of Philip Morris. Today, it is a $350 million community-oriented financial institution serving the diverse needs of the Richmond region. There are six metro Richmond locations and numerous ATM locations in the area and around the U.S. where Call Federal cards are accepted.
