What do I need to provide to open a checking account?

To open a checking account, please bring the following:

  • A valid DMV-issued ID with your current address.

If your ID has an outdated address, here is a list of documents you bring as proof of your current address:

Acceptable Documents for Proof of Address

  • Current credit report pulled by CFCU (with no fraud/address flag alerts)
  • Rental/lease/tenancy agreement
  • Deed/mortgage contract
  • Tax return dated within the past 12 months (filed with a tax professional)
  • Voter registration card
  • Vehicle registration
  • Concealed carry permit (with raised seal)
  • Current statement from another financial institution
  • A signed and dated letter from a member in good standing stating that the applicant resides at that
    current address (This would typically apply in the case of a person residing with a relative, partner or
    close friend)
