Every year on the third Thursday of October, credit unions around the world pause to celebrate what makes our movement so special. Since 1948, International Credit Union (ICU) Day® has been about honoring the cooperative spirit that powers credit unions and improves lives in communities near and far.
On Thursday, October 16, 2025, we’ll join more than 411 million members in 104 countries in marking the 77th year of ICU Day. The global theme, “Cooperation for a Prosperous World,” ties directly to the United Nations’ designation of 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives under the banner “Building a Better World Together.”
So what does this mean for you as a Call Federal member? It’s a reminder that credit unions were built differently… not-for-profit, member-owned, and people-first. We believe money should work harder for you and your family, not for shareholders. That cooperative model has allowed us to stand strong for decades, serving our neighbors with both practical financial solutions and a genuine commitment to community.
